The number of corona cases in the country has jumped to 283,487 on Saturday after more infections were recorded in different parts of the country. According to the national database, 842 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours. As per sources, cases in Sindh jumped to 123,246 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 94,223, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases mounted to 34,539, in Balochistan 11,835 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 15,214, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 2,301, while 2,129 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir(AJK). In addition, the country has recorded 6,068 deaths so far, after 14 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours. As per official data, Sindh recorded 2,259 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 2166 in Punjab, 1,222 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 55 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 137 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 171 deaths and AJK recorded 58 deaths. According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 2,103,699 corona tests and 24,366 in last 24 hours and 259,604 patients have recovered across Pakistan. Reportedly, 114965 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 86240 in Punjab, 31447 in KP, 10304 in Balochistan, 12878 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 1887 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 1883 patients have been completely recovered whereas 801 patients are in a critical condition across the country. The number of confirmed cases in the country has jumped to 113,702 on Wednesday after additional cases reported in Punjab, Islamabad and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the national dashboard, 2,641 cases were reported in Punjab, 178 cases were reported in Islamabad and 32 new cases were detected in AJK.The national database stated that, 5,385 persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 in 24 hours. As per sources, cases in Punjab mounted to 43,460, the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Sindh stood at 41,303, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases climbed to 14,527, in Balochistan 7,031 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases climbed to 5,963, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 974, while 444 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). The COVID-19 death toll jumped to 2,172 in the country after 105 more deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. According to the national dashboard on virus, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded 587 deaths, 683 in Punjab, a highest number as compared to any other province while 679 in Sindh, 14 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 54 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 52 deaths and AJK recorded nine deaths. According to the Deputy Commissioner of Nowshera, the PTI MPA Mian Jamshed was under treatment at a private hospital in Islamabad and was also on a ventilator since the last three days. DC further informed that Mian Jamshed's son Mian Umar Kakakhel and brother Mian Shabbir Uddin Kakakhel have recovered from COVID-19. Mian Jamshed Uddin Kakakhel was elected in the 2018 elections on from KP Assembly seat PK-63 in Nowshera. He served as KP Minister for Excise and Taxation. The funeral prayers for Mian Jamshed Uddin Kakakhel will be offered at 06:00 PM today, family sources informed. According to Deputy Commissioner Fuad Soomro, Dr. Naushad has been ill for the last several days and has been on leave for the last 6 days. The DC said Dr Naushad had signs of coronavirus but had not been tested, however, precautions were taken during his burial. After the death of Dr. Naushad, his whole family will undergo the corona test, he added. It is to be noted that the wife of Dr. Naushad Hussain is also a doctor. According to district health authorities, three doctors among five are medical officers at taluka hospital Ratodero, while two female corona positive doctors were performing their duties at basic healthcare centres. Nine family members of infected male doctors also tested positive for the virus, while the reports of other members are still awaited. The infected doctors and family members have been isolated at home. The COVID-19 quickly spread across the globe that has started late last year from Chinese city Wuhan. The countries affected from the disease across the world forced to impose lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Pakistan is also facing acute situation as the virus cases are rapidly increasing and continue to hit precious lives while the health providers working on front line are also falling prey to the pandemic.
